Catherine Broughton is an accomplished Clinical Supervisor and Specialist Family and Domestic Violence Practitioner, bringing over a decade of professional experience underpinned by lived experience. As the inaugural Chair of the Path of Hope Foundation’s Lived Experience Advisory Committee, Catherine plays a pivotal role in ensuring that survivor voices shape and guide our strategic direction and service innovation.
Catherine’s leadership is informed by her deep expertise in trauma-informed care, clinical supervision, program management, and counselling. Her career has spanned frontline service, team leadership, and education, supporting vulnerable women and children across Western Australia. She has held key roles with organisations including DVassist, The Salvation Army’s Graceville Centre, Patricia Giles Centre, and RUAH.
Her work is grounded in empathy, resilience, and evidence-based practice. Catherine’s qualifications include a Graduate Certificate in Domestic and Family Violence Practice, a Bachelor of Counselling, and a Professional Certificate in Understanding Childhood Trauma. She is a Registered Counsellor and College Supervisor with the Australian Counselling Association and continues to pursue best-practice development through advanced training in trauma, supervision, and therapeutic modalities.
Catherine brings not only clinical and academic excellence but also a powerful lived perspective that strengthens the Path of Hope Foundation’s commitment to meaningful, survivor-led change in the fight to break the intergenerational cycle of family violence.
